The Zelfs were a popular toyline produced by Moose Enterprise.
The toys were released in 2013 and 2014, making them a more recent notable toyline as they were not created during the Troll Doll craze of the 90s compared to most other brands.
They are considered counterfeit Troll Dolls toyline.

The Zelfs were a toyline which combined traits of traditional Troll Doll design with elements of that of animals. They were often thought to also be inspired by My Little Pony and many characters even had similar markings or names to released ponies from the toyline. Due to their body type style, they were very commonly branded as Troll Dolls.
The main figures come in three different sizes - Large to target the fashion doll market, Medium to target the 'collectable' audience and Lil' Zelfs which aim to those who buy mystery pack toys. 3 Waves of Lil'Zelfs were produced, the last being July 2014, 2 for the medium size ending also in 2014, while the largest size had a single wave in 2013. Some characters appeared across the various sizes, but no Zelfs were reprinted in additional waves. Each character had its own backstory and each one was said to have magic powers of their own. While no character was reprinted, moulds were reused at times for multiple characters.
A cartoon animation was released on Youtube, with a similar intention to the animated cartoons for Monster High and Forever After High. The animations appeared in 2015.
