Norfin Adventures - Norfin Noel was the second of the 3 holiday specials produced for the The Norfin Adventures. It was christmas themed and release into Europe on VHS. It was produced by F.H..E. (Family Home Entertainment) and distributed by Red Apple Group Incorporated.
It was an official Good Luck Trolls product and produced to go alongside the 1992/1993 Troll Doll craze. At the time the dolls were going by the name "Norfin Trolls". The product was made in cooperation with Dam Things. It was dubbed into English and sold in the USA.
One noted difference between the animation and The Norfin Adventures - The Great Egg Robbery is that the animation style changed. While characters mostly look similar to previously, the overall style of characters are drawn differently and the animation movement of characters is different.
Plot[]
In the Norfins hometown of Norfindim, located in New Scandinavia, inside the company known as "The Ink", a female Norfin (Aggie) is telling two younger norfins about the 3 stars travelling across the sky to find the true spirit of Christmas. 3 other Norfins go about their business in the room, preparing for Christmas. She explains the younger Star wasn't paying attention and took a wrong turn and was lost. As she tells her story, one of the other Norfins (Sureluck) is tying a present and slowly getting caught up in his string, while another (Bogey) falls off a ladder against a book shelf. Bogey lands in a pile of books, he pops out of the books and explains that to this day, that lost star roams the sky, searching for the meaning of Christmas.
Aggie is questioned by the two young Norfins on the truth of her story, she responds by asking them if them if there really is a Christmas Time each year. She goes on to ask them if the tale of the lost star is indeed an important part of the holiday. She finally asks them if a story thats part of a really important holiday be anything less then true. The male Troll hands the two young trolls a book to read for themselves, telling them reading about it will make them even more excited. Angy tells the children that hot chocolate is ready and Hercules has baked some really special cookies.
In a glacier off the coast, a green haired Norfin (Dr. Doom) chuckles to his assistant (Norton), he takes a book away from his assistant he is reading demanding to know what it is about. The green hair Troll dismisses the book as it is about Christmas and the lost star. The evil Norfin reveals Big Murtha, a weapon he plans to use against Bogey and the other citizens of New Scandinavia. He just doesn't know how to deliver his gift to them right now.
Back in The Ink, Angy explains the lost star carries a special gift, which the young Trolls identify as "The Star Ball", which Bogey explains is the same one placed on the Norfin Christmas Tree every year. The star dropped it while travelling above the Norfins and Good King Oliver found it, he placed it on the top of the Norfin Christmas Tree for ever after. The starball is New Scandinavias most beloved treasure, Bogey explains its normally locked away in the archieves and only taken out once a year for Christmas. At this point, the Trolls are draw to a meteor in the sky outside their window.
At his evil lair, Dr. Doom explains to Norton what a meteor is. The meteor is not one after all, but has landed on the far side of New Scandie Island. The duo leave to investigate the UFO.
elsewhere Bogey and the other Norfins are trying to locate the meteor, unaware it is actually a UFO. Aggie scolds Hercules for complaining about getting the cookies back to the square for the children. Bogey comments that he will likely finish off the cookies before they get back as Hercules goes to eat one.
As Dr. Doom approaches in his helicopter, he notes the presence of the Norfins. He is angry that they are here first as they will now meet the Alien inside the UFO first.
The Norfins loo at the Meteor and Aggie identifies it as a UFO. Sureluck points out that this is neither flying nor unidentified, making it not a UFO. Hercules and Sureluck question the shape of the vechicle. A bright light shines and a robotic alien (Cosmo) walks out of the ship. It appears behind the Norfins causing them hide in the snow, Hercules leaves his cookies behind and the alien takes one. It gives it to Hercules who hands the alien another cookie to its surprise. It teleports next to Aggie and shows an image, Aggie concludes that it likes Hercules. It draws their attention to the down ships and they approach.
Dr. Doom is amazed by the teleporting alien. He summarizes it must have amazing powers it must have and Norton concludes it looks friendly.
Aggie concludes the alien and its ship are amazing, but they need to hide it from others. Upon hearing that, the alien makes its ship disappear. Hercules proposes they hide Cosmo themselves, after all it is christmas time. Aggie accepts that as its Christmas, it wouldn't hurt to have Cosmo with them. Sureluck notes its perfect to study him, but Bogey halts him and tells him that he should ask Cosmo for his permission to do that.
Realizing that Cosmo made his ship invisible, Dr. Doom realizes that Big Murtha can be made invisible to deliver it to the Norfins. He plans to set the bomb right under the Christmas Tree and set it off.
The mayor of Norfindim is excited for his voters, who are preparing for the Christmas show. his assistant asks if they should prepare the Starball, the mayor notes thats the highlight of the holiday. He points out how important it is and is asked if he should then prepare it. the mayor gives up.
Dr Doom and Norton watch from outside Inks window as Ink question Cosmo over a missing ship piece. It turns out the missing piece looks like the Star Ball. Dr Doom realizes without the Star Ball there is no Christmas in Norfimdim. Herc suggests giving Cosmo the Star Ball to see if it is the part Cosmo is after. Sureluck points out they can't just give the alien their most prized treasure. Bogey points out you can't have Christmas without it, while Herc argues you can. Bogey agrees that giving is part of Christmas, but points out its not theirs to give, it belongs to all Norfins. Sureluck suggests they think matters out.
At the lair, Dr Doom states he needs Nortons deft small fingers to adjust Big Murtha, but Norton is reading the story of the lost Star. Dr doom takes the book and puts it in the incinerator. He states once they have Cosmo they'll make the bomb invisible and stuff it under the tree and blow up it.

Errors[]
- The English dub has a great deal of lip syncing issue, for example when Cosmo's ship is see as a shooting star, Sureluck talks but no words come out of his mouth. The two kids instead say "meat eater" while he talks.
- When they return to town with Cosmo, a number of carol singing Trolls are seen, but they do not have sound coming from them in the English dub. Instead the dubbing team presumed it was a crowd of talking Trolls and had crowd talk inserted instead in the scene. One Trol in particular gives away by his mouth movement he is actually singing.
- Herc's shorts change colour between cells as he speaks about Cosmo's missing ship part resembling the Star Ball.
Trivia[]
- "Big Murtha" is a reference to the Big Bertha, an arterially gun.
